Published in 1994, our monastery’s Diamond Anniversary Year, Sr. Maria Agnes, tells the story of “Rosary Shrine,” a title first given to our monastery when it was a popular site of Marian pilgrimages, and one still used with affection today. As monastery archivist, Sister had access to important documents and photos, allowing her to present a full and engaging exploration of the monastery’s history in the context of the events which shaped the twentieth century. In good Dominican fashion, Sister also shows our monastery’s informed response, in contemplation and action, to the “signs of the times.”
